Looks like a great update! Wireless monitoring on my iPhone!?!?!

Unfortunately, they are only selling the new camera in various kits, unlike the previous camera, which was available "naked."
I'd really like to buy this new cam "naked," since I already have every GoPro accessory imaginable and don't need more.

Apparently, the Surf Edition is as "naked" as it gets; at least its $30 less than the other options.

I agree. 24p seems like an unnecessary framerate for what this camera will be used for. This is more of the intense high action stuff, and less slow dolly moves.

Does anyone know if the mini HDMI output is live and unclutterd? Would be interesting to bypass the codec in 720 60p with Ninja, Nano etc.

So "intense high action stuff" is only shot in 30 and 60p?

Nope, the higher the frame rates the better for the fastest motion (depending on what you're doing with it). I believe the rule for something to be in 24p without stuttering is something like it has to take 7 second to travel from left to right. You can always put that footage on a 24p timeline, but this way you have a chance to see it without the stuttering. Also, a lot of the time, this stuff is slowed down. Slowing down 24p is not the best idea.
