GoPro FOV resetting when shut off

I haven't been able to find and anser to this problem and am hoping someone here might now. I have a GoPro Hero2. I like to shoot video in the medium FOV setting, however, every time I set it and then turn off the camera, it resets itself to the wide FOV. Is there a way to save the medium FOV as the default setting when the camrea is turned on?

I've got the H1 and H3...the Hero1 doesn't really have the FOV feature, but my H3B saves the last settings I've used. Perhaps try manually updating the firmware to latest version? Failing that, ask GoPro.
