GOP1 vs Max Lat hack

Perhaps a stupid question, but i was able to decrease the GOP from 15 to 10 and not have any camera errors so far...
Would there be any negatives to doing this besides larger file size?

Also, i understand that GOP determines the space between I frames but i dont really understand what this means, like how it impacts thefootage? Does it make it clearer or easier to capture motion? Would it be better to have just I frames for maximum data information?

I have recently stumbled across a GOP1 hack and am liking the test footage i see.
One guy claims to have "135mbps max bitrate and more than 90mbps average". Is this possible? Probably pretty unstable...?

Does anyone know the pros and cons of this compared to the max lat hack?

Try this GOP1 settings youself and may be you will see smother motion and better quality of picture. It is not so stable as lpowell100mbps, and you can not shoot trees or grass at sunlight, but it is not damage file even when you have card error. Now i set GOP2 to 720 60P and it works good. I increase bitrate to 119900000 and patch is more stable now. I do not shooting trees or bushes, and i do not have errors. 135max and more is real bitrate, but more tipical for common scense is 100-110 max.

Native 24p/25p=Checked
Video Bitrate FHD/SH=119900000
Video Bitrate H=74000000
Video Bitrate L=74000000
Overall Bitrate=119900000
720p60 GOP Size=2
1080p24 GOP Size=1
Preset bitrate=1199
Preset bitrate 2=1199
Overall Bitrate 2=119900000
Constant for 1080p=3888000
Constant for 720p=466560
Video buffer=84.000.000

These settings were pretty useless to me. Even shots that were not that detailed said that the card writing speed was not fast enough (i was using a sandisk Extreme)

might try and experiment with it more though...

Are these numbers for GOP 1 correct?

Are these numbers for GOP 1 correct?

any GOP1 rendition I tried gave me very very choppy video, and no significant bump in data rate.

Haven't tried this and these myself.

What camera( setting)s are you using, NTSC or PAL?

Are these numbers correct:

Constant for 1080p=3888000
Constant for 720p=466560

What is their relation?
