Google+ (Google Plus) social networking (need an invite?)

EDIT:
Looks like Google is throttling invites, so be patient if you don't get in right away. I think it blows, Google is going to irritate people if they do not open G+ up to everybody soon.

If anybody needs/wants an invite to Google+ social networking just drop me a PM with your email (preferably gmail, but if not I will also send you a gmail invite-- you can always have gmail just forward mail to your hotmail/yahoo/etc). I will add any invites to my Google+ screenwriting 'circle', and once you are on G+ you can always opt out of any circles, etc. Just that G+ is currently by invite only (that is how I got it). Will give anybody interested a chance to try out Google+ social networking (but keep in mind it is pretty barren until Google opens it up for global adoption, it is just in beta limited mode; I have heard rumors Google might open it up come August)

I'm on as well, if you can't get hold of Randall you can send me a PM for an invite. Circles is pretty cool. Just because you add someone into your circle doesn't mean you are added into their circle so in that respect it is more like twitter

Alenproducoes--- you need to provide an email address (preferably gmail for full Google+ functionality, but o/w any email works; i can also invite you to gmail with the Google+ invite).
You can PM me your email so it is not public here.

Hawk, it won't be for long. If my facebook wall in any indication, a lot of people are starting to move to GPlus.

And I just got the new messaging rollout on facebook today, where you can see all past messages, and that was the last straw for me. As soon as Plus becomes sustainable, I am bouncing from facebook.

I am liking this circles thing if I understand it correctly. I can have a filmmaking circle for those friends, and keep them separate from family for updates.

I finally got on. It's so desolate there ...

I think just a day or two ago google doubled their space for users on g+, so I think when it opens up public in a few weeks it could take off. Time will tell. For now I just do some 'following' of a few people (Ashton Kutcher, Veronica Belmont of Tekzilla, Sharon Vaknin of cnet [geek stuff]) and added Sparks of interest (tennis, movies, screenwriting, filmmaking).

I did the math, the power of exponential growth on a social network like Google+. If 5 people invite 5 other people who invite 5 and so on, continuing that chain just 13 times, you would have over a billion people on a social network.

If the product (Google+) is great, people will come. It could catch up to Facebook fast; or flop. We shall see.

My Google+ social networking page as I see it in my browser-- using a Stylish theme, a dozen or so are now showing up for Stylish.
Here is a screenshot of my Google+ page.

I have been on Google Plus (g+) now for a few months, really liking g+ once i learned how to so easily find lists of people and add them to my 'circles' (and you usually get added back once you do that). If anybody joins up on g+ and wants me to share my screenwriters circle just add me to your circle and make sure your profile states you are a screenwriter; i will start a thread on g+ sharing my screenwriters circle (a very cool feature of g+, lets you almost instant get a ton of people in your circles ('friends' list; unlike FB, G+ lets you add someone without waiting for confirmation that they want to be added).

I also have circles for boatloads of talent, filmmakers, directors, DPs, etc. Including notable actors, writers, etc. There are quite a few people on g+ of interest that might surprise you-- the Dalai Lama (He posts every couple of days), Daniel Radcliff, Jeri Ryan, David Goyer, Hugh Jackman, etc).

So how does this Google+ thing work? Is it possible to have a proffessional page for a company without having a private one as well? That's one of the things I hate most about Facebook. I kind of liked MySpace. It was very versatile, you could be anonymous, upload movies, customize the look, or make just a page for your movie company or garage band or whatever. Nothing about Facebook ever appealed to me, instead most of it just put me off. that's why I've never registered for it. Even my own movie's Facebook page is run by a friend of mine and my girlfriend.

Oh and obviously, how easy or hard is it to delete a profile? On Facebook it's practically impossible, but with Twitter or MySpace it's the click of a button.
