Good Wireless Mic/Lighting Kit?

Hey guys,

I'm about to purchase a new three point lighting kit and wireless lav mic for this gig I have coming up, which will have a ton of Q/A's. My budget for both is around $750.

Was wondering if any of you pros have a certain kit and mic that you KNOW works and works well. I don't want to risk having to send something back because this job is coming up fast.

Thanks,

Ryan

Tight budget.... check the marketplace here, I believe you can get a good deal on some lights.
It will still be tough to get both for $750. I think you could do it for $900.
Lowell light kit & Sennheiser G2 (the new version is the G3).

$750... for 3 lights, stands, and a wireless lav setup. And you want to know if we have a setup that we KNOW works well....

I know I'll get hammered for this, but are you friggin' joking?! A basic wireless kit ALONE will cost $500 new. And that's with the give-a-way microphone included in these kits. Add a decent mic and you're right at $700-800. And we haven't bought the first light.

Please, before you make a mess of this, hire a pro to do it for you and preserve your reputation.

PERFECT solution...

Buy a good wireless kit - one that will last you a while... I have a dual channel Azden that works perfect and I am the 2nd owner..

RENT THE LIGHTS - I rent 5 light arri kits complete with scrims and chimeras for around $125/day... 3 should be < $100.

I slowly purchased a good light here and there on ebay or marketplace... and now have decent kit...

Buy some used lights, use an Olympus digital voice recorder for the audio.
I switched from Wireless last year and couldn't be happier! If I do a talking head interview I use a wired lav, otherwise, I use digital voice recorders.
