I was also surprised to read this since untill now on this site it was reported that no frames were lost when one P2 card was full and the cam subsequently switched to the second P2 card DURING recording

I believe he actually never looked at his footage off the P2 cards. He didn't have the latest operating system for use with FCP 5.03 to import P2 but he tried to stream it. He made it sound like he was recording to P2 and stream at the same time. Is that even possible? He said it lost frames as it switched from card1 to card2. Obviosly this would not happen if importing P2 Data, but could on the stream. (provided that you can do it simultaneously)
 
Yes it's possible to record to P2 and to stream at the same time, as long as you're not using 720pN mode (the "native" modes don't stream).

No frames are lost on the cards when it switches between cards (spanning clips).

I have had the money since I ordered it in early November and I am high up on the list at my retailers. If this camera were shipping in any regular quantiy I would have mine for sure by now.

I have to laugh because in early January people who were 130th on the list at EVS were complaining because they would have to wait until end of january to get theirs! Now we'll be lucky if the the top 4-5 even see a camera by end of January or not. Pickings are slim that is for sure. Can't wait to see this things start pouring into shops here in the US!

This brings up a topic (in my head at least). Hows the book coming Barry? I believe I will be getting our HVX's soon (pre-ordered last spring :happy: ) and from all the different styles of shooting this camera will do I know I will need my HVX book. You have a deadline or gut feeling for when it is going to be published? Any chance of a contest to get our hands on one early, or maybe the first edition? :thumbsup:
