Like the title implies this short has some sexy drama camera work, some upstate NY car process shooting, and some crazy party documentation. All in one short film.

The final film will be posted on its very own website. Keep cool DVXusers.

It got better as it went along... I dig most of it.

Creative criticism first... work on your camera moves. Some of them were slightly distracting from the talent and dialogue that (I assume) was going on. Who was your AC? Rehearsals will help insure that focus pulling is accurate. The best part about video (tape or other media) is that you can playback to make sure your focus is right where you want it to be.

That being said, your composition is great, and you made excellent use of your limited light sources. I found it paticularly interesting that at the end, you decided to pan the light away from the house and to the car, thereby taking attention away from the house -- forcing your audience to pay attention to exactly what you wanted them to.

Bravo.

Thanks Jay.

Suppatime Thanks for crit. Some of the camera moves were designed with enough rehearsals, others were super run and gun.

I agree, one of my favorite parts about the HVX is the instant playback, especially at offspeed framerates. However our schedule was a little crazed (like everyone's :crybaby: ) so we didn't have a lot of time to watch it back.

Also without the dialogue and dramatic context the camera moves may not read like the director wanted. This is a DP reel. Not to discredit your crit, just saying.

We had a different focus puller everyday. I even pulled a on a few shots.

I'm glad someone caught the light pan, lol. That was super ab-libed becuase our second HMI died. So for the ending jib shot we had to pan the only one we had left. We call it the solar eclipse.

Again, I really appreciate the honest and critical response. No 18k's for the this shoot but we'll get them soon enough. And hopefully we won't have to pan it.

Cheers,

Matt
