F3: Good Run N Gun zoom lens - nikon mount

It is worth thinking about your shooting ratios at diff focal lenses

I tend to run into a room and do a wide on my 18, then swap to my 35-70 and do a pile of MCUs (35) and CUs (70)

One lense change per room

Using a 17-55 and an 85 I would have to do a lot more lens changes..

The Nikon 17-55 2.8 with optitek is a killer combination.
If I could only take one lens with me, this is the one.
the normal set in the bag are Tokina 11-16 2.8 Nikon 17-55 2.8 Sigma 50-150 2.8 (really great lens for the money, buy the one without stabiliser)
Depending on the job I bring fast primes (24 1.4 35 1.4 50 1.4 85 1.4), but I must be allowed time to use them.
 
i wasn't even aware of the nikon 17-55 before i used the red 17-50 and went looking for a similar range. good to know that it holds up in use. thanks for chiming in, everyone.

Bader, the Optitek beats the MTF by a mile. do a search in this forum, there's lots to read on it.
