It's not worth it.. Plus its only USB and no firewire. You can find the same one for about the same price and it comes with firewire. You have to understand that some machines don't have USB 2.0 and can cause problems if for instance you're trying to edit at a friends house. It's always good to have both firewire and USB. If not at least firewire.

true. although I'm getting it for a laptop, and I like doing the USB so i can keep the bandwidth on the Firewire open for vid, and just utilize the usb for video files....

you did see teh 50$ MIR, right? :D

you know it only has a 2mb cache, you could build one with 8mb and both firewire/USB2.0 for around the same price after mail in rebate. Then you wouldnt have to wait for the rebate or your video streams..
