Good portable LCD for your AF100 and GH2 (but it costs $1500 :-) )

or seller items (http://shop.ebay.com/cineport1895/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340)

HD-SDI, DVI, analog BNC inputs.
So, no audio level for HDMI (without HDMI to SDI converter).
I am not sure about any focus assis modes.

As I understand it have special screen suitable for outdoor shooting also. :-)

For such monitor price is not bad.
Bot not low either :-)
We'll see $1000 models in upcoming months with FA and all waveforms and vectorscopes.

So you buy a monitor that cost more than the camera? I seriously doubt anyone here would buy this and this is posted in the wrong place as Dslr are using them because of quality and $$

Yes. Not this one (as I want to see 1:1 pixel mode, and few focus assist modes + HDMI), but yes.
And I see nothing wrong with it.
Many people will buy GH2 and will use monitor with GH2 and their other cameras.

Life4eva, I'm not sure of your point. I think people will use and are using equipment like this. The way things are heading the camera body is going to be the "cheap" part of the system (in vdslr). I'm sure there are many people, including me, who have components in a system that cost more than the camera... I can't wait to use my HDMI screen for focus and framing while recording on a camera like the GH-2 (for example)

In fact even two microphones and boom (and this is really not much) most probably will be more than GH2 body cost ;-).

In you want good cheap HDMI you can look for my other thread. That one cost $210 and I am very happy with it.

People have been putting lenses several times more expensive than camera bodies for ages. Imagine that -- crazy photographers!

How about a little hdmi to dvi adapter on this LCD?

Looks like a nice screen.

What's the native res?
Does it have false color?

800х480.
As I understand, main selling points are controls and screen (made to work under sun) .
Also it looks like vectorscope and waveform are limited to SDI input.
This is weird.
Otherwise you can use any DVI-HDMI adapter.

Definitely no.
It is too small, first.
And has only one focus assist mode without any other things.
It's big enough for on rig focusing... Much better using 5,6" on rig than some 9"-10" lcd monitor (easiest balancing, can be closer to lcd...)
it has 1:1 pixel mapping and hdmi and hd-sd (optional), one focus assistant mode for now, but it's firmware upgradeable...

Do you have one? As they are on preorder now.

Of course, if it'll have improved firmware with histogram (they are working on this), zebra, and few other things it could be interesting.

IPS screen is definitely a plus.

It is interesting to look at firmware and internal construction.
If it is powerful enought it could be much better with time.

Looking at firmware strings it looks like it is some Mstar chip from some cheap meadia player :-)

Actually I do have one :) (hd-sd is on preorder, hdmi where shipping two weeks ago)

I also have their old dp 8,9" monitor, which is great but a little big to work with on shoulder rig (connected to 7d).

hope you're not right about that cheap mstar chip, since the monitor alone is $900 :/, but anyway it works great and that its what counts ;)

Could you remove back cover (few screws only) and make few photos?
I'll tell you details then :-)

P.S. Firmware has few "MST" mentions and it is usually short for Mstar - large TV and media players chip manufacturer. Also many parts are dedicated to JPEG and MP3 playback :-).

I was looking for the dp 6 for it's size and weight for my hand held rig only. I thought it would be a perfect match to my 7D.

I don't think that they have any competiton at such size.
IPS screen and good resolution.
May be few firmware improvements and it'll be perfect for anyone who like small monitors.

there are no any screws, it seems that everything is molded from one metal part and all electronics and screen is drooped inside from front side and glued (or something similar) together.

Maybe you could trade some false color coding for their firmware for a free screen + some cash :)
