Good night, sleep tight,

What is a bedbug anyhow? Surely that isn't the specific species name, right?

Well I went to Wikipedia to find out and I found something else rather terrifying about bedbugs:

All bedbugs mate by traumatic insemination. Because the female has no genital opening, the male pierces her abdomen with his hypodermic genitalia and ejaculates into the body cavity. Especially desperate males sometimes mistake other males for females and fatally wound the latter in the abdomen.
Good grief.

Well, in all fairness it's only terrifying if you happen to be a bedbug yourself.

At least, until someone gets careless with the 'ol radioactivity and the streets are filled with rampaging fifty-foot-long bedbugs jamming their hypodermic genitalia into buses and dump trucks...

About two years ago we shot a commercial for one of those bedbug exterminator companies who use a beagle.

The owner's phone was ringing off the hook the whole time we were at his place. $$
From what I could surmise, he was talking to a lot of NYC hotels.

Hahahahahahaha. Oh yeah, they enter the hotel room strapped and with extreme prejudice.

:kali::kali:

One of the 17 articles Jordan posted explains how they work: The dogs sniff out the bugs in hotel rooms, hospitals, etc. Then the exterminator comes in.
:violent5:

This **** is everywhere now. A few high end stores, a local Bklyn movie theater. Whenever my GF brings home something from a stoop sale, I don't let her bring it in the house till it's been nuked.

We had two rooms at the hotel that we rented to construction workers and the next thing we knew we had bedbugs in both of those rooms. We had to throw out the sheets and the bedspreads. Didn't work, bugs hid within the framework of the metal frames for the mattresses.

Anywhere they can hide they will breed and infest. We got rid of the mattresses, and then had the two rooms completely fumigated a professional pest control who came in looking like plague control covered in cover suits and masks.

It took awhile before we could rent those rooms out again. Gross, gross, gross nasty little bugs.

I am looking for a place down in the city and the bed-bug problem has made my search tough as hell. Because I'm in such fear of those little critters that I won't take a place unless there is an on-site washer/dryer. The laundromat...not really an option. eww.

I loved this movie as a kid.
