Good deed for the day.

Bringing the thread back on track...

I guess my good deed on August 25th was putting on a prostate and ovarian cancer fundraiser - "Laughter and Hope" in downtown Toronto. We had a lot of cool acts volunteer their time to raise awareness and everyone had a great time.

Also the launchpad to my documentary - "Below the Belt" (keep an eye on that website for more information by the way!)

Dude, trust me, I wasn't slamming you.

Good on you for saving the little tree rats.

Really.

Cool. My mistake then. It was cool anyways but thanks for clearing it up.

...
I didn't find any more today so I guess that's the end of them.

I guess I can get back to being a prick again.
Some old guy called me an asshole today because apparently he was in a rush to park his car
but I was taking too long walking in front of him. That didn't make me speed up any lol. The old fart looked like he was 120 years old as it was.
Anyways, looks like I'm back in fine form, hahahaha.

...

I wasn't able to get some pictures of the ones I found but here's some from the web.
Mine didn't have thier eyes open yet but were like these.

The picture of the squirrels climbing up the guys arm was funny because even though
mine couldn't see yet, they sure could climb. They climbed right up my arm too.
So that's what they looked like. Cool little dragons.

So that's it, I'm done. My work is done here.
Except for maybe Doc. I think he still needs a bit of tweaking up yet. Ha.

Reminds me of a story, I was walking home from the bar one night, and ran into a girl crying.
well, she was around 24, same as me, but she had a baby rabbit that she had picked out of the mouth of a cat downtown. We were downtown. She was really upset. I talked her into letting me have it because my brothers girlfriend at the time was a manager of a pet shop and his place was on my way home.

So I took litttle buddy to my bros place and bro's girlfriend screamed my head off. "What the *F* am I going to do with that? kind of thing.

So I said, fine, I'll put the poo pooing thing in your back yard and I don't give a poo poo what happens to it.

well, then she perked up and started saying " Well, we'll have to feed it and maybe we can take it to her friends place out in the country and she could raise it (she was also a wildlife type manager person) and so, she took it.

Ya know, it's like , sorrrreeeee. But once I said I'll toss it in the bush and don't give a poo poo what happens to it, well, all of a sudden, they found a way to help it out.

Old story. wtf.

Either don't use the f-word or find a cool way to cheat the system (don't hurt me, mods).

I love your posts, but everything is poo poo this and poo poo that when that doesn't even make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAARGH!

:Drogar-Thinking(DBG

I don't give a ****. That's how I talk.

The mods are more than welcome to ban me. They know that and they know if they do I'm cool with it.

Let your mod know that you would like me banned. That's all you have to do.
If fact, take a ****ing poll. I don't give a ****. Do what you gotta do man.

Here's a primer for you if your not used to the F word.

Baby squirrels look a lot more ratlike than I had imagined.

Well, there's divergent evolution for you.

My Story

My Story

A couple months back, as we were driving home from work we saw this tiny dog walking along the side of a busy intersection. My wife (who before she had a dog, was NOT a dog person) saw him and asked if we could pick him up. I was a little hesitant at first, but then he started darting into traffic! I pulled to the side, jumped out of the car, and just as I did I saw the dog get hit! We walked over and saw one of his back legs were broken and his eye was cut, but he was alive. However, as you know, an injured animal is very dangerous, especially a stray dog. So a few others stopped and we corralled the dog under a truck on the side of the road. I was the only person with a smart phone so I called the Humane Society, and they said they would be there within an hour... An hour and a half passed as we gave the dog some water we bought from the corner gas station, and tried to keep him motionless and calm. Eventually some folks came by who's daughter worked for the animal shelter, so we got some rope out of the back of someone's truck and made a makeshift leash and got him in their car. It was sure an interesting experience seeing about eight of us come together to take care of this injured dog. Here's a picture I snapped below.

Their genes didn't diverge much AT ALL from rats, as they are a rodent.

They've diverged enough to form a separate species, which is precisely what 'divergent evolution' describes. Rodentia is an order; two level of differentiation further along is where you get rats (superfamily Muroidea, genus Rattus) as distinct from squirrels (family Sciuridae, with five or six sub-families after that).

From order to individual species is usually at least three taxanomic removes. They're sufficiently different genetically that they can't be interbred. There's more of a gap than I think you recognize.
