Is there any site where I can get a good deal on an HVX200?

Also, with it being my first camera, would it still be worth it to save money and buy a DVX100 instead? I would love to jump right in on HD, but as of now I don't have the means for it. Would I get a lot out of the DVX100 with all of this HD going around?

You can get a good deal on a used one here.
Why would you "SAVE" money and buy a DVX100? It cost less than the HVX200, so no need to save.

That being said, I see no reason to buy a DVX100. It is a good camera, but there are so many other cameras that will serve you better.

If you don't have the money for HD, then get the HMC150. It is a great camera for HD, and you can downconvert to SD if you need that.

You will get more out of an HMC150 than a DX100, for around $3,500.

For less than $2,000 you can get a dvx100, but for that money,

or

I would rather have a Canon HF100 for around $600, add beachtek adapter for $175
better mic, extra batteries, extra SDHC cards, and premiere pro CS4 student edition

All tripods can mount to the adapter.
