I didn't. Ricky Gervais is brilliant, though. What I can't deal with is the back slapping for movies that aren't very good.

Caveat: I don't think many movies are very good. I'll take a schlock horror movie over Best Picture every time... unless that movie is The Silence of the Lambs.

I believe that a "good" movie is actually entertaining. Most award winners are boring and unwatchable.

Agree entirely. That's why I din't watch it, but hearing about Gervais, watched all his bits on youtube. Don't think he'll be invited back next year

After rewatching The Social Network tonight, I have to say, I actually support its win for Best Picture-Drama. There are a lot of subtleties you pick up on in the second viewing, and the film really addresses our entire generation in this single story. It's quite fantastic.

That said, I still like Black Swan better, but I think TSN deserves the award more.
