Golden Gate Time-Lapse

Hey Drew,
I like!
Do you have any problems with the 20D in high ISO sttings? Like a CCD strukture in the shadows?
And did you record to laptop?
Any good sites on the 20D, like this one?
I really consider getting one, just waiting for another pricedrop...
Cheers,

Spart

Waltind, 9 seconds took a little over 7 minutes to do. As far as shooting time goes. It was 230 frames total in this sequence.

Spartacus, I don't have any problems with the high ISO. I use the 3200 setting every once in a while for stills. But I've never used it for time-lapse. I usually stay between the 100-400 ISO rang. No, I didn't record to a laptop. It all just went onto a 1GB card. I wish there was a site like this for just the 20D. The closest thing I have found is http://www.fredmiranda.com/ . This is a really good site if your into photography. The 20D would be a good buy. I really like mine.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Next time I go up there I'm planning on getting some footage of the fog. The fog in SF is pretty wild.

Thanks guys. That "Solaris" sound track does the trick for things like this. I've also used music from "Collateral" and some music from the Apex Twins. Kind of has to be something slow and mellow.

I'm glad people enjoy seeing this stuff. I've even made some money from footage sales of some of these clips. There was a question about wearing out my shutter in my 20D from doing this. But I've made enough from the sales to pay for an extra shutter, when the time comes.

I wish I could sell more of it but its kind of hard to shop it around. I really only post in two places. Here, in DVXuser, and in Fredmiranda.com. So I guess its really my fault from not selling more clips. I haven't tried any of those stock footage places yet. But this is mainly for fun. It would be nice to make some money from it.

Awesome time lapse as always, man. Keep 'em coming.

On a small picky side note, the artist is Aphex Twin. It's only one guy making the music, Richard D. James.

Beautiful.
For those of us who aren't familiar with what you're doing Drew, would you mind explaining quickly how you're getting these shots?

Does the 20D have a timer that allows you to shoot, or are you haveing to fire it every 45 seconds or so? I'm curious, it looks killer... and I've got a D70s here just waiting to capture some cool stuff.

I have a remote that's wired up to the 20D and that's how I control it. I just set in how many pictures I want and fire away. But the thing is that it only does 99 for every button push and I only get about 33 every button push because I have the shutter open for 2 seconds. Its weird but it works great for me. Glad you liked the shots.
