Going to Norway

Is there anyone who has shot in Norway? I have meetings there and I'm bringing my camera. I have the charging/electricity issue settled just curious if there are any union or governmental concerns?

Thanks, Daniel

Last name Brevick and from Minnesota? I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess you're Norwegian. I was there a year and a half ago and didn't have any issues bringing my dslr or enormous laptop anywhere. How big of a camera are you bringing?

The trains are great, public transportation is easy to use. Getting to Bergen or Lillehammer from Oslo is a breeze. There are busses that go farther north as well, I was lugging around 2 large bags the whole time and never had an issue.

What's the project?

Oh, and just a heads up, Norway is EXPENSIVE. Good luck! :D

Norway is EXPENSIVE

This this this. Don't take taxis.

Incredibly beautiful and perfect country for photography though. I walked about halfway from Oslo to Trondheim and got some incredible shots. I had to haul my camera bag around, but was glad I did.

No government concerns that I know of.

Can anyone comment on wireless audio usage? I know I need something else than the A-band sennheisers I have here in the states, but where can I rent a legal audio kit for my trip? Google hasn't helped very much.

Thanks Zeefeld, I think thats just the information I needed - I was on that site earlier (the english version) but didn't find that particular article. I actually emailed Sennheiser Norway today and they got back to me with this info as well:

Dear Nathan.

As from the 19th of January 2012, we are allowed to use the UFH band between 510 - 790MHz in Norway. So your A-range set will work almost over the whole country.
And as long this is a simple channel, and not a multichannel system, you will manage.

Med vennlig hilsen / Best regards

So it seems I'm all set to go with the wireless! Now on to all the other things I need to think about!

Bring about 3X as much media as you think you'll need. It's an extraordinarilly beautiful country, the people are very friendly and speak English. But, as previously mentioned, it is expensive. I was there about 10 yrs ago, loved it.

Heading there for work, but definitely going to play as well! I'm going as a part of a performing group to about a dozen cities over a span of 3 weeks. Transportation and lodging is all taken care of so it should be a great opportunity.

Whoa, very cool. If they need extra help let me know  I want to find a job there for a couple months just to help learn the language.
