Im not sure of the exact lifespan (perhaps Ill do a test by leaving one on indefinately?). As TonyH mentioned they are pretty cheap and I only get them when needed. They work extremley well by producing the nice warm daylight effect. I like me cause they are cheap, easy and and efficient (stick a couple in and drop some diffusing over them and you get nice results.)
I shot some stuff awhile back (testing the DVX and using my son) and my wife asked when I shot it as she doesnt remember me being outside with the camera that day and I wasnt. It was nighttime in the garage.
