Going rate for LOCAL comercials?

No i dont think so. they will still know that you usually charge X but they got a deal and depending on how you spin it they will think that was a one time deal and their fellow associates wouldnt expect to receive teh same deal. the original price being discounted is what provides the value.

Its like your grandmother leaving you an old painting that she had in teh kitchen.. well its nice, reminds you of grandma but since you got it free its nothing special.. now the antiques roadshow comes to town and grandmas painting turns out to be an original Van Gogh and all of a sudden you love that painting, tell all your friends how expensive it is. You see without someone assigning a higher value its just another old peice of canvass with some paint on it.

one track. i always wonder about that as well. There does seem to be some validityto the so bad it works theory. Maybe its client or industry specific. The commets below not withstanding, Car dealers seem to have some of the worst commercials, they also seem to have the worst reputation so can a bad commercial tarnish that? balance that against some cancer Hospital. Could they run a truly terrible commercial and expect to win favor simply because its so bad people remember their "Lincolns Birthday Chemotherapy Sale.. SUNDAY SUNDAY!!!" probably not
