Going back to P2 cards from Avid/Premiere/FCP

So, I seem to remember (and thought I downloaded) a free utility that would allow you to "render" a cut/edited timeline in Avid/FCP/etc. to the file structure and mxf format necessary . . . which could then be transfered back to a P2 card

(This would allow me to cut a 20 minute piece, and put it back on a P2 card, then I could use the camera as a deck to play that editied/finished piece back on a full-on HD display (or digital cinema projector) without laying out to tape and renting an expensive deck.

Anybody know when I can find that utility (or something that works the same)

Thanks guys and gals!~

I have done this... Straight out of FCP into the HVX, but I had to set it up as the non-native file format... so I had to keep the edit down to 8 minutes or less. I know that FCP just allowed this in the new update so maybe the modified it to now allow it to just use the native files and extend the run time to 20 minutes. I think it's kind of how the varicam works with the 59.98 timebase...

You can also use the HVX200 to dub DVCProHD material to a P2 card, provided you can get your NLE to output it to the DV port. Check page 78 of the manual.

Canopus Edius lets you export straight to P2 media, and it will even split the output to fit the P2 card capacity.
