FS5: Go with the Flow | Netherlands Trip - Shot on FS5

Humanity has to revert back to it's origins in order to find it's own salvation. Made just for fun throughout Netherlands journey with the love of my life.

Shot with Sony PXW-FS5 & Sony 18-105mm f/4 G OSS
Slog3 & FilmConvert Pro

Just goes to show that for all the grief the 18-105mm receives it can still deliver the goods when in the hands of a talented DP.

Bravo!

That IS on the 18-105mm is pretty sweet, eh? ( shots of drivers on roadway ).

You do nice work, Emre. Love your stuff.
Thank you Mr.Cummings.

Great work! That last shot! hahaha
It is hard to keep the camera steady at last shot. : )

Thanks for your compliments. I really liked 18-105, just put it on and forget, makes me focus on the frame.
Stabilizer works great on lens, i shot that plan on hand through train window with 105mm and 2x clear image zoom extension.

There are some really nice shots in there that are totally ruined by the IS. I felt like I was going to get seasick the way the camera is bobbing and weaving all the time. :lipsrseal
Feels like I was looking through the eyes of a drunken sailor. I think it would have been a better video without the IS. This is a great example of why IS sucks and I don't have any clients who would accept footage that feels like this. Try turing off IS next time.

You found the essence of Holland, cows and bicycles. I only missed the tulips and coffeeshops. :-)

I live in the Netherlands, I like cows, even made a book about them. And I like bicycles of course.

That said, I think slow motion is the new black and white, used to give any video an 'arty' look. It is used too often these days.

Thanks for your reply Doug, precious observations for me. I think beside IS, this problem happened because camera was handheld all the time during trip. It was not planned or prepared shooting.

Actually i like little handheld movement but this was a little too much i think.

Maybe next time tulips and coffeeshops. : )

You are totally right about your statement on slow-mo.

Well, now I'm concerned. If slo-mo and driftycam become passé, what will be the next big thing? Solid shots, deep dof and hard keys?
