go from fcp to hpx 170 via firewire to HDmonitor ?

I know it's possible....can't find out how.
please help.

I wanna output fcp via firewire through hpx170 to external monitor.
 
Make sure your camera's rec format is either 720/60p or 1080/60i (or, for Europe, obviously, you need to set it to 720/50p or 1080/50i). Choose which one based on your FCP timeline; they have to match.
 
Hi Barry ,I did that....what are the rest of the settings?
Do I put in CAM, MCR or Pc mode?
Any other specific settings?
 
Barry or Wim, I'm trying to set up the same thing here. My recording set up on the hpx170 is 720p60, FCP timeline the same. I'm in MCR mode with thumbnails turned off. But I don't see anything. If I go back to CAM mode I can see the camera output on my Sony monitor just fine (using the component output.) What am I missing?

Also, am I to assume that I can't monitor this way in 24p? (I have it set to 60p right now for the test but would love to monitor 24p.) This is mainly for color correction so I don't care about dropped frames. Thanks. pw
