GND filters for my EX1

I was in Yosemite last weekend for the first time with my EX1. Being a wilderness landscape still photographer, I use graduated neutral density filters very frequently. Even with my larger sized 4x6 Singh-Ray GND filters, I could not get the compositions I wanted because the filter doesn't cover the width of the .8x adapter lens. Are there even wider GND filters available for video? If not, I may have to get a 5D Mark II (I shoot stills with the original 5D) and get my GND video shots with it and use my EX1 for everything else. My style of shooting requires carefully balanced lighting during magic hours with a wide perspective. Anyone else have a solution? Gracias.

You can get 6" x 6" graduated Nds from Tiffen or cavision. Don't have the .8x adapter but I assume 6" should cover it.

I also assume you'd have to figure out a way to rig the filter because matte boxes for 6" x 6" are pricey. One approach off the top of my head, if you don't want to spend the money on a matte box, is to get a 6"x6" filter tray for the ND and a manfrotto magic arm. Clamping to camera body and filter tray, giving you adjustment of filter placement. This is for locked off shots obviously but if you do want to pan maybe a 2nd magic arm will be needed to keep filter from jiggling.
