Glitches.

I'm in serious need of using my camera again, but do to glitches, it's not use. I have used a head cleaning tape from panasonic, but no luck. Could it be the sony tapes I'm using after I had used a different brand last time? any help is appreciated.

If the footage is weird, there is a great chance that the heads are dirty. You said you used a different brand THEN Sony's, then that will most likely mean you dirtied your heads. Sony tapes are not recommended on the Panasonic cameras because they have a more oily magnetic strip. The only time you should use them is if they are the only ones you use, and are the ones you begin the camera on after a professional cleaning. With that said, you can continue to use Sony's if you have your camera professionally cleaned. The do-it-yourself head cleaning tape won't do much good. If you are in a big city, there will most likely be an authorized repair shop, but if not, you will need to send it off to Panasonic or wherever your warranty is located. If that isn't possible in the time you have, the only alternative is to plug the camera into a firewire-enabled computer and record directly to it. This can be done in any editing program or specialized DV capture program (e.g., DV Rack, Adobe OnLocation, etc...).
