Glitch Problem

I did a shoot with two DVX 100p's. I spot checked all the tapes before handing them over to the client. No problems to be seen. A week or two after the shoot the client called and said the tapes from one of the cameras has a glitch every 4 seconds. I'm wondering if anyone might know what might have caused this problem and aside from playing the tape out of the same camera is it possible to fix the problem with tape. Both cameras came from a rental house. I have the rental house traking the cameras down so I can see if playing the tape out of the same camera will solve the problem. Regardless though any ideas other then using the same camera?

Thanks.

Maybe your client can use another deck to play the tape? Might help.
The camera probably wasn't 100% good, but that doesn't mean all decks will play it with glitches (at work I have a lot of unfortunate experiences with worn-out tapes played on worn-out decks, but usually one or two out of three decks will play such a tape just fine... another excuse for my boss not to spend money on replacements and new tapes, duh!)

I had a couple of tapes go all funky by setting them behind a huge speaker at a gig I was shooting. I suppose the tapes are magnetic, so is the speaker. It really messed the tapes up. I don't have any empirical data that this was the cause but it seemed fairly obvious to me. The tapes were just opened MQ's and my camera has like 80 hours on it and it has worked fine since then. Also one of the tapes was never in my camera, it was a dub from a totally different deck. Really sucks, maybe they were by a speaker.

Yep, the heart of most speakers is a big-ass magnet; the bigger and bassier the speaker, the bigger and more powerful the magnet. It's a bulk eraser you can play music through!
