Glidetrack Shooter

Has anyone used Glidetrack's newest slider? I've been looking at the Indislider mini which seems like a great 'bang for buck' option, especially for a light-weight DSLR set-up.

However, Im curious about the glidetrack, which is also very well priced. They claim the unit can be used as a shoulder rig, but Im EXTREMELY skeptical that it would be comfortable/stable for any period of time. I'd appreciate input from anyone with exposure to either of these sliders or any other slider that is priced at around the $300 mark.

Heres the link to the product:

Thanks.

I have the unit and love it. I've got a small Manfrotto head mounted on it, and a quick release plate mounted on the bottom. That way I can run and gun quite easily, then just slide the unit into my tripod or monopod head. It's extremely quick and very efficient.

The unit is actually pretty comfortable, and works surprisingly well as a shoulder rig. It's very lightweight and really very stable.

onesock,

Would you be willing to upload a few pics of the setup? Leaning towards something like this! Also, what length shooter did you purchase? Still enjoying it?

(fwiw I do weddings/events so I want the quick changing out like you've mentioned)

I have the indislider mini without table legs. It works decently with dslrs and lightweight camcorders. You just need to practice a bit the slides to be stable enough. Two things to mention:
1) the glidetrack build quality appears to be superior (it is also 2x the price)
2) indisystems has terrible customer service by contrast to the glidetrack excellent one.

Professionally i've worked with pretty much any slider out there and have to say that the only sliders that work all the times (as opposed to this one that works only in certain situations) are the ones that have ball bearings or other non-constant-contact material. As the ones using the waxed plastic (or whatever it's called here) only work with small rigs - but then you are limited only to shooting without the accessories such as external monitor, mattebox etc as with all those the weight of the rig is too much for smooth operations. In other words as far as this rig is concerned (based on my experience with indySlider) - NEXT!
