Glidetrack Shooter vs Kessler Pocked Dolly

Hey,

Does anyone have any thoughts on these two products? I want to get something and the shooter appeals to me b/c I'm a no fuss kinda guy and afaik the big plus of the handles if you can use them as a bit of a stand to balance the height out if used on the floor.

However the pocket dolly has the hand crank that looks pretty nice and I wonder if it's one of those features that'll become very heavily used and therefore make it worth double the price.

Any thoughts?

ive got a Pocket Dolly with the Hercules head. i think the crank is very useful especially when you want to go slower than slow.

i just ordered the 503HDV head to screw on to the PD. in the Kessler video demo they show the guy using the PD as a mini crane. if i can pull off the moves with reasonable ease like i saw in their demo video then the PD & Hercules head will have some big pluses over many of the more standart 36" sliders.

ill report back when i get the new head and play with it a bit.

I bought the parts from IGUS and made my own zaza slider. It's super easy if you know how to use a drill. Otherwise, the Kessler and the Glidetrack are both made from IGUS parts, but one has a belt/crank drive and the other has feet on it. Figure out if you want to take the time to make it yourself, buy one already made, and if you really need a crank and/or feet on it.

Kessler cineslider ROCKS!

Kessler cineslider ROCKS!

I run a camera dept for a mid-sized production company and we love Eric's team at Kessler crane. We have used his products for years and honestly dont think we could get by without Kessler's products. In the most recent past Eric sent us his new cineslider and my camera teams love his system. We use the k-pod system utilizing the dolly track as well his mechanical pan and tilt head. If you are in the market consider his designs as being at the forefront combining high quality craft manship and at an affordable price point.

Best to Eric and his team at Kessler,
