Glidetrack Hybrid Noise

I just received a Glidetrack Hybrid HD in the mail today and I'm wondering if i could get some insight from someone else who owns one. When there is nothing on the carriage, as you slide it up and down the track it makes somewhat of a train type noise, click click click click, like the wheel is rotating. For the most part it goes away with the camera on it but is this normal or will it go away with use? thanks.

I don't think it should do that. Got a chance to test out my new Glidetrack Hybrid HD for the first time today and was getting the same clicking noise. I followed their maintenance steps and determined the bearing with the problem and washed it with dish washer liquid and it made no difference, repeated the steps and still got the clicking! I'm assuming there is some irregularity with the wheel. Movement is also very jittery, tightening up in some areas and speeding up in others.
Why the extra bucks for the hybrid carriage I wonder. I will try wiping the rail with pledge and see if it makes a difference.

Here's my first impressions when the hybrid bearings first came (Feb. 2010) out.... I found (and still find) that a lot of times the rollers have a 'BUMP' in them. Remember, these are hard plastic rollers and are really designed for heavy sliding doors, etc. They were never intended to be mounted the way we need them for sliding cameras.

Here's my latest review & comparison of the two carriages:

With all that said... I have been playing with my own version of the hybrid carriage over the last year. I've also been trying to get igus to build me a roller glideblock with a neoprene wheel instead of that hard plastic one! If there's interest, my carriage assembly will come in at around $110.00 complete (that's my goal).
