Glidecam or Fig Rig?

had a fig rig but sold it to get the multirig pro. it was really hard to shoot maual controls with the figrig. the support rod is what sold me on the multirig plus it can fold up and fit into my camera bag.

the glidecam on the other hand will give you more of the steadicam look to your shots but will take practice all though i never used one but i imagine you would nedd forearms of steel :)

The MultiRig is, indeed, awesome!

The Glidecam2000 isn't too bad on the forearms... if you keep your shots fairly short. You're not going to be shooting with it all day unless you look like Popeye.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I have seen some amazing work done with a glidecam...I was on a shoot last weekend with a guy who used it all day who said it starts to hurt the wrist after a while, but it's manageable with a bit of practice...I'm incredibly impressed, but I recommend the Glidecam 4000

I'm not really sure, but I think the 4000's extra weight provides better stabilization, even for a small camera like the DVX. As far as it being attached to the glidecam, it's on their so securely, you'd have to drop the whole thing...it wouldn't come off of the top. I suggest a quick release plate too...that way you can go back and forth from Glidecam, to tripod to handheld with relative ease...
