Glidecam for a DVX

What's up guys, I'm looking for advice on what Glidecam I should get for my DVX, I plan on adding an M2 35mm adapter to it. so I know it will add weight to it any advice on what parts and or anything I need to take into consideration?

That's going to be too heavy for any of the handheld Glidecam units. Also, focusing is going to be a major pain in the ass. I'd advise losing the adapter on your Glidecam shots. A Glidecam 2000 Pro works well.

When you said Glidecam, I was thinking of the cheap handheld models. That should have no problem supporting the weight. Focus is usually controlled with a wireless system. One of the Steadicam gurus around here will be able to help you more with that than I can.

For that price range you could pick up a Steadicam Pilot. What's the preference for Glidecam, just out of curiosity?

if by extendors you mean whip, it still won't work. You have to have a wireless FF unit, or keep your focus fixed and work with those limitations.

and if you use the adapter, the glidecam 4000 pro works fine with the smooth shooter vest, forget hand held though.

I'm not looking to spend more then 4000 and the steadicam Pilot is more expensive with the vest and arm right? Is the steadicam pilot better though?

What do you mean forget handheld?

And does anyone have any advice on Wirless FF units? and how it works?
That would mean I have to attach another monitor to my DVX right?

anyone have any Pictures of this set up?

I was looking at the the one listed on the redrock micro web site, but doesn't seem to be available.

I have the Glidecam V-16 and have used it with the DVX100a. It required extra weight as the DVX100a is a bit light to attain proper balance. I had no luck using it with the RedRock M2 even with a focus puller, smooth control and focus was impossible for me.

The V-16 works nicely with my HVX200 and as soon as I can test a wireless FF system i will add my M2 to it and give it a go.

:)

Sherlock256, I am trying to get our V-16 set up with the HVX 200 - Any tips? So far I have not gotten the sweet spot? This is my first attempt at this as well so I am still learning.

Thanks

Will focusing be a major issue with two people working the camera?

and if I do lose the adapter for my glidecam shots don't you think there will be a big of a diffrence I'm just afraid it'll be noticable.

The V-16 unit with the arm and vest, do I really need that or is it all just the 2000 and 4000 glidecam rod thing. Is there a cheaper arm or vest that would work just well?

Basicly my question is, what is the cheapest glidecam or steadicam unit that would work well with an hvx or dvx that has a 35mm adapter?

if any of you know?

Without a wireless follow focus, you won't be able to do it. Everytime the second person touches the camera, it'll throw the whole rig out of balance. You may as well just go handheld at that point.

I saw this recently, do you think this might work well with what I'm trying to do or would the DVX be to heavy with the M2 Adapter and the wirless follow focus adapter.

I looked at the Redrockmicro page and it doesn't list anywhere the how much weight it adds can any of you help.
