GlideCam Body Pod or Arm Brace Experience

Just bought a GlideCam 4000. With the mattebox, rods, mic, etc., that sucker's heavy. Since I don't always know who will be using the camera in the field [Zimbabwe], I want to make it as easy as possible for any one to use.

I'm using funds from a non-profit to purchase and I want to be sure anything I purchase is the right use of their funds. There is enough money to purchase both if you guys think I should.

I wanted to know if anyone has purchased and used either the Body Pod or the arm brace made by GlideCam and if you have any advice or a cheaper alternative.

Thanks.

Re: GlideCam Body Pod or Arm Brace Experience

there are several threads about this. AFAIK the body pod helps to rest between shoots while the armbrace is a support during shoots.
search for it in the forums...

I'll check the forums.

What does AFAIK mean? Hope it's not along the lines of RTFM.

Re: GlideCam Body Pod or Arm Brace Experience

I think it may depend on the length of time you will be shooting. I have noticed most people buy at least the armpad and that it is a must to have either that or the bodypod.

Thank you.

There is some information on drawing of the rifle butt to Panasonic DVX100A?
