Glidecam 4000 pro or HD for an hvx200?

Hi, I'm looking at buying a Glidecam 4000 pro tomorrow with the body-pod support system included. Everything is in perfect condition and is $350.

What I'm trying to figure out is if it's worth it just to spring for the 4000 HD, as it appears to be easier to handle.

I'd be using this with an HVX200 for the time being.

Any advice would be awesome

I own the pro 4000 and let me say that you want the armbace over the body pod. It'll help A LOT more in the long run and give you more flexibility when operating.
you do need one or the other, I was on a shoot without one and the director had me doing this 8 min take of a man mowing, and we're talking doing this for about 40min with all 5 takes he got. The next day i needed pain killers to just stand and sit, WITH aide.

also looking back on my purchase, I wish I got a shoulder mount instead.

What would you use for smooth tracking shots in that scenario? I'm looking at the Glidecam as a non-$3000 way to get smooth footage at weddings/receptions, but the weight/arm issue, not to mention the inability to quickly put it on a tripod, make me think thrice.

Thanks,

Clint

My glidecam 4000 came in lastnight n yea it's Heavy with the hvx And yea it sucks I can't switchto tripod easily. But I was so amazed on the stability even tho I coodnt keep it stable. Can't wait to get off work and play around with it some more. N I heard you can put a sliding plate on for easy switchn
