Glidecam 2000 vs. 4000

Hi, sorry to ask this in a new thread but I just bought the 2000 for my HVX and I'm wondering if I should ASAP change that order to a 4000. What is the reasoning behind having a 4000 if you don't want to mount stuff on the HVX? The camera with battery is under 6 lb, right? That is the 2000's limit. I've even seen somebody put the HVX on a Merlin (and seen it advertised for the HVX) but the Merlin's listed max weight is even lower than the Glidecam 2000.
Also, am I wrong that you cannot use a camera lighter than 4 lb with the 4000 model.
Any help asap would be much appreciated as I can still change my order.
thanks.

I've used the 4000 and the HVX and it was excellent. We even mounted the firestore on one side of the glide cam and evened it out with weights on the other, making it easy to use the whole package in a run-n-gun situation. Go with the 4000.

thanks guys, is there any reason why the 2000 model cannot be used for the HVX?

It might "work" but IMHO it's not really designed for something as heavy as the HVX.

FWIW: I found the 2000 to be somewhat awkward even with a much lighter cam. My suggestion would be to go try one out at a dealer or buy a cheap used one (about $200) with the knowledge that you could resell it if it didn't work for you.

thanks John!
The only reason I didn't go for the 4000 model was because it says it supports 4-10 lb cameras and I wanted to be able to use it with both the HVX and a lighter camera. But you can't put a 2 lb camera on the 4000, right?
