Sorry, but that was the opinion of *one* person. Although that person is a volunteer moderator, he is not involved with the site in any other capacity and does not speak for DV Info.

I love this palce as well as the sense of community and mellow attitudes. I like dvinfo for the INFO, but this place feels more like home!

DVInfo is a great site, definitely one of the best. Offers a wonderful variety of information, I usually try to keep up with four or five of the forums there. Some excellent experts and great information is available.
But as someone else said, DVXUser just feels like "home". It's tightly focused on just this one camera and its users, and that's why I like it.
There's plenty of room for both.

Hey Chris.. sorry I thought he was an employee of yours, By the way he was offering some sort of "Deal" and "Sucess" if I came over and joined the Dark Side.. err actually probally the Light side. I think his statement "what forum do you like the best/Why the hell would you want to goto DVXuser.com" could lead to a very ugly thread..
Anyways, I am sure there is room for both of us, and you can tell Stephen thanks for the offer but DVXuser.com isnt going anywhere. ..

That guy is just crazy! What's with this sense of competition between community forums? Actually, it sounded more like, "I don't have enough time to look at your site, so make all your posts on my fav site...yeah...and it'll be better for everyone!"
I don't know why, but I feel offended that someone would seriously make such a senseless "demand" such as that.

Oh hell, I don't have any employees... there's a guy who contracts for all the server admin stuff but everybody else over there are all volunteers. Just like it is here, I guess. That statement was made by someone who has a lot of zeal. It really took me by surprise. The *reality* of the situation is that we're all stronger in the long run if we can peacefully co-exist and mutually support each other. It would be pretty damn boring if there was just one place to go, considering how huge the net is and its potential and all. We send people over here all the time. There's a lot of other places that we won't send 'em to. This site ranks pretty damn high in the DV Info world.

As far as "that guy" goes, Stephen has always been a very friendly, very helpful type. He's always worked hard to get answers for people, and gone out of his way to moderate that forum. He is not, in any way, a "bad guy". His suggestion may have not been well-received, but hey, please don't anyone hold that against him. He made a suggestion, and it didn't "stick", so now it's over. Stephen's one of the original DVX boosters, a great supporter, and he shouldn't be ostracized or anything, let's just please forgive & forget and move on.
