a few days ago, my Cinevate Titan matte box saved my AF100 from what surely would have been a devastating blow. well worth the $1000. and that's all I have to say about that. :)

TIMBER!!!

I don't think it's any coincidence that, including myself, there are six senior members with experiences with a matte box/rails saving the camera from great harm or destruction. I'll never forget leaving a former grip to keep a hand on my camera while it was attached to a jib arm. I arrived back on set with said grip nowhere in sight just in time to see a gust of wind topple the jib with the camera landing square on the Chrosziel. Destroyed the box and saved the camera. Yes, I did refer to him as a former grip.

I was looking into getting one. But only for a deal. Do you think the protection of the lens is one of it's most unsung uses?
