F3: 'Giving Time' - from We Inspire

I had the opportunity to create this passion project with my F3 back in July and they've released it over this Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. Shot almost entirely handheld with a couple slider shots. Edited in Fcpx. Color grade in Davinci. Recorded to internal cards. Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment!

Some really nice stuff there Paul. The 720p slow motion stuff holds up really well I think. Grade-wise I prefer a touch more contrast personally - have you found shooting the internal 8-bit keeps you from upping the contrast when shooting SLOG (i.e. banding starts to creep in)?

Thanks Mark. Yes the 8bit internal codec is a real limiting factor to how far I feel I push/pull the grade in post before banding creeps it's ugly head. I could maybe have gone a bit further in contrast and been ok, but as Morgan Moore once said "I could smell that the codec was about to break" haha.
I think the 720p slomo did fairly well here too. I'd love to see 1080 60p out of this camera with an Odyssey or Shogun someday. Since shooting this piece I have picked up a Hyperdeck Shuttle for 10bit 422 and after see the benefits of producing a thicker negative for more heavy grading. Cheers!
