Well, I just got done filming and editing the 2005 Miss Tri Valley and Miss Washington County Pageants and thought I would post some pics for you all. As with most event videography the lighting was not under my control, but I must say that I think they cameout fine. We filmed the event with 2 DVX100a's (One center, for the wide shots, and one house left, for the close ups)

Hope you enjoy. I know, it's tought job, but somebody has to do it ...

They look good. I would be very careful about posting images from events I did. Most of the time I've done events, the use of the footage (or stills from the footage) remained the exclusive property of the client, unless otherwise contractually agreed upon. Most of the contracts I draft allow me to use the footage to showcase my work with the express purpose of marketing my services.

I'm not being a prude, It's just that the shots look good and I hate to think that you may lose a client by posting them around. People can be funny, ya know.

Thanks for your concern. I wouldn't want ot lose a client either. As for the pic's I retain all ownership of all of my footage - which is disclosed in all of my contracts. (I also retain the right to use the footage as I see fit, as long as it does not defame the client.) And I feel fairly safe posting them here.

how come the footage is slightly out of focus? Was it just the img compression?

It has to be the compression - when I was editing everything it looked fine on the monitor, but the stills came out looking slightly blury. Oh well. I'm glad that you all like them.

Is was an interesting event - there is a talent portion of the contest where one of the contestants, who is a blackbelt, broke 12 (different) boards with her hands and feet. Very impressive! And it was a nice change from all of the singing.
