Giottos Cotton Swabs or something as good or better?es

Thanks Alex H.
I was hoping for something with a firm point on one side like the Giottos, but I'll book mark these.
Anyone else?

Thanks for the links puredrifting.
I'll keep those in mind also.
I've never been able to get a microfiber cloth into those hard to reach edges where the glass meets the frame, and other places where there's a sharp 90 degree angle.
Maybe the Kimwipes have an edge or can be folded into a tight crease and that edge can get down into those areas?
Is that how it's done with the Kimwipes?

If you're not familiar with the Giottos swabs, the pointed tip fits very nicely right along the edge where the glass meets the frame and they wick up any moisture left from cleaning liquid.
I use an optivizor with a fairly stong magnifying lens in it when using them, just along those edges or in the cracks, and I've never seen them drop any lint.
The Giottos swabs are woven very tight. Even so, if they did I'd just give a blast with the air bulb. I don't use them all over my gear. Just those very hard to reach places.

Edit: Will try them out.
I found a 280 count box of 4.4" x 8.4" Kimwipes for $4.63 on eBay with free shipping - smaller size better for me.
and the Pancro Professional Lens Cleaner 4oz. Spray Bottle for $18.95 and free shipping also on eBay.

You'll find the Pancro evaporates quickly and leaves no residue, it's very "light". I have never had to fold up the Kimwipes to get at corners. If it's not actually cleaning the glass elements themselves and there is dust or particulate in hard to reach corners, I usually just use compressed air or a bulb blower. The Kimwipes and Pancro are on every set and every AC pouch on every show and feature I shoot on. Stick wipes? Perhaps back on the camera truck, but I have never seen them used on set.

Update and report back after needing to clean a filter that someone gave to me:

The Pancro is great! (Love the smell also :-P )

... but the Kimwipes are crap for me.

I had a finger print spot of finger oil on a filter all the kimwipes do, i.e. after a little moistening with the Pancro, is spread the finger oil all over the glass.
So, get an other Kimwipe to mop up any moisture ... it just continues to spread the finger oil more evenly all over the glass.
An other 3rd kimwipe ... same thing just more evenly spread all over the glass.
They also drop little piexes of white fuzz ... much more than the Giottos Q-Tip type swabs.

So I switched to my go to ...
a Giottos microfiber cloth ... and even without any Pancro it totally picked up the finger oil and leaves the glass totally clean.
Well ... it always has ... even with the Giottos spray cleaner, but I do like the Pancro better.

So the kimwipes ... I won't even use them on my cheap $3.98 cheater reading glasses after seeing how they work on a filter.
Maybe they're great for mopping mud off of a camera body, but for glass ... no way for me.

But I love the Pancro!

Interesting. You must be really scrubbing hard, I have never seen any residual fuzz or lint from Kimwipes. Are you using the Kimtech Kimwipes and not some off brand? Green and white box?
You know that for lens coating retention, you should AWLAYS be wiping with the lightest possible pressure, as delicately as you can, right? It's pretty easy to damage or remove certain lens coatings with a heavy touch and there is usually no need to be heavy on the pressure on the lens element.

Yes. Kimwipes by Kimtech - green and white box.
Yes. Lightest pressure ... i.e. until I saw that it was just spreading it around. I might have gotten heavier at that point but it's an old cheap Tiffen filter so no loss there.
Light pressure with microfiber cloth and only a few passes cleaned it right up.
