F3: Giant Eagle Grocery Store PSAs

Looks great. How did you find working with store lights and mixing them with any of your own added lights? Were the store lights flos or mercury, etc.. ?

Really nice work. How do you find the Canon 30-105mm compares to the CP.2s? I'm looking into adding a couple of lightweight zooms to my package, and although the new Zeiss Compact Zooms would obvious be a better match colour and contrast-wise. The focal range on the new Canon zooms seems much more useful.

Thanks for the feedback. There was a lot of flos in the stores and warehouses where we shot. Generally, when we did light, we'd use a kino loaded with the same bulbs from the fixtures at the location. For the interviews we would used HMI's. When there was a color spike issue with house flos we would add a bit of plus green to the HMI to match and let the colorist take the green out across the board in post.

I like the Canon 30-105 quite a bit. It matches well with my Zeiss 15.5-45 LWZ. They are a few mm's from being the same length and both have 114mm fronts. The focus and zoom rings are also almost the same spot, so it's pretty easy to change between the two without changing the matte box, FF and zoom motor configuration.

As for matching, I'm no lens tech, but I feel like the zooms generally match better with each other than the primes, regardless of brand. That said, all play well enough together to be pretty matched for the type of doc style work I generally do.
