Ghosting with bright lights

Hi all,

Was doing some test shots for a (hopefully) upcoming short, and I noticed some ghosting with the street lights. It only occurred on the two closest, whilst the others further down the street were okay. I noticed to on car headlights as well. I recall reading an article about the AF102 that claims it doesn't have a low-pass filter. Anyway, has anyone else encountered this, and short of not filming anywhere near bright lights at night, is there any way to mitigate this phenomenon?

My 24mm F2.8 had less of a ghosting. Any ideas?

This is called a lens flare. Your 102 does have a Low pass filter. Your lenses are the cause of this.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the ultra speedy reply! I did consider that due to the shape of the ghost/flare (ie: it kind of looked like the lens shape itself, if that makes sense).

Does anyone have any idea for how to minimise that? Better lenses? Filters? etc
