Ghost or strobe images

I just can figure this out. I shoot in 60p 1/1000 or 2000. I have tried rendering in intermediates and then droping in a 24p timeline and its worse. I render in vegas 9 with the 60p settings in wmv format and its better than mp4. But I always get this no matter what I do. Any suggestions? Here is my video and if you look at the thumb nail you can see exactly what I am talking about.

Would I be better off shooing in interlaced and then deinterlacing the next video?? I am just frustrated!

Thanks.

So -- are you dropping the footage onto a 24p timeline? If not, try it this way:
open up a new 720/24p project
Import your 60p footage into the bin.
Drop it on the timeline.
Right-click the clip and go to "properties"
change the "Playback rate" to 0.400
then click "disable resample"

You should have perfect, ghost-free slow-mo.

OMG!!! I can now use anytime line. The magic button was "disable resample"!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barry, one question if I may, i have heard that for slow motion in a 24p time line its better to have the project properties at 60p (the same frame rate that it was shot), is that correct> or should it be also 24P? i know i have asked this before, but i have got mixed answers, thanks again....

No, you'd want the project properties at 24p (or 30p). 60p footage is only slow-motion if it's played in a 24p or 30p project, frame-for-frame.

I have been using 60p timeline and just using velosity if I really want to slow it down or changing the properies to .5 on playback for normal slo-mo with great results. And now when (thanks to Barry) I disable smart resampler..and it aint to smart by the way..lol I get NO ghost images. Perfect sharp slow-mow.

With that being said. Is there a way in the project preferences to just turn off the resample..instead of doing it on every event? I looked and cant find it.

one more thing if I may..i just tried out the 24p mode in the gh1,i used cineform neo to remove pulldown via convert file to cineform avi..took that to vegas 8 ..looks like the pulldown was done, as vegas sees it as 23.976 ..but here is the issue...if i slow it down and go frame by frame i do see lots of ghosting, i did un check disable resample, and nothing, ghosting is there, is this because of the way it was shot (it was no more that hand holding the gh1 and filming kids play), anything else i need to do for the ghosting to go away? i think the only unusual thing i did was use very high shutter, maybe 1/1000 in 24p, my ND filter is not here yet..thanks in advance... also let me add that the ghosting i see is inside vegas, when i play back frame by frame..im going to try to render one and see if its still there after rendering..

ok..it was cineform that made the ghosting ..as it has been explained before on here, it takes a few frames for it to start the pulldown for some reason, and in my case the first 6 or so frames showed ghosting, the rest were pulldown corrct by cineform...
