GH6 on sale for $1,700

Sheesh, $500 off and it only started shipping a few months ago...Panasonic cameras always have these crazy discounts, hope sales aren't too brutal.
 
Panasonic just released last years growth - double digits. Also said video centric cameras are part of a 5 segment doing well. Bit on the Gh6/12-60 deal today.

Awesome, do you have any links which include a breakdown of camera sales, or are the numbers mostly department-based?

Just wondering because sometimes you'll see consumer electronics doing well and profits going up, but specific products part of those sales may account for like less than 1% of the total.
 
43rumors source. No department specifics but they quoted an article where video products were expected to do well.
here is the text:

Panasonic published the Q3 financial results here: news.panasonic.com/global/stories/13531. The company is doing well but there is no info about how the camera business is performing. But it’s clear the camera business is important:

New Switch published an article in which Akira Toyoshima, President of Panasonic Entertainment & Communication, defined five growth business areas and indicated a policy to increase sales by 1.5 times by FY2024. “Movie mirrorless cameras” are included in five growth business areas.

I helped them out today, ordered the Gh6/12-60mm for $2,297....
 
These cameras are always put up against the Pocket, and for $1700 I think it has a lot more appeal now for small chips users, great deal.
