GH5 GH5S with Leica 100-400mm, Soft Images, Pt 2

So what do people think? Is something wrong with the lens? It used to work fine with filters and now it doesn't. All my filters didn't suddenly go bad. Something has changed about the lens. Could a scratch or some internal issue make a lens not like another piece of glass over the front? I don't see it practical or acceptable to never use a filter again. I would be shooting at f/16 all the time.

I've emailed Panasonic so will just wait for them to reply, but the expertise of this forum is much appreciated.

Double back on some of the earlier footage you shot with it 6+ months ago. Review it carefully to confirm you never saw the double/ghosted images in any of the scenes from that time frame. Is it possible you just didn't notice a problem back then? Do you have enough footage from that time frame to really know for sure?

Well, I've done some testing, and it seems that the Tiffen UV filter is the worst offender. The Chiaro seems much better, maybe no issues at all and without the filters looks the same as the Chiaro. I'm now using a lens hood but don't think that's changed anything. I'm still seeing the horizontal lines with the ND filters, but I shot the three attached pics today using the Chiaro (they look sharper on my end), so I'm feeling better about the lens. I'll close this case for now I think.

A final addition to this post: I got my hands on the Olympus 300mm, and the same ND filters cause the same horizontal streaking, so Im more convinced now that it's the filters/lighting and not the lens/es.
