GH5 GH5S Noise?

There are some post about banding in 1080p VFR, which I haven't tried yet. But I know it's cleaner in DCI 4K 24p than the GH4/GH5.

So - it seems that VFR modes are showing these buzzing horizontal lines at anything above 60FPS - in any picture profile in shadow areas. I'm not noticing it in UHD 50p or FHD 50P. They're extremely visible, even in daylight in dark areas using Cine D or Natural (and clearly even worse in V-Log).

What's causing this? VFR is extremely noisy with these stripes in shadows.

Basically its fine at 60, but above that (even 62 fps) it goes haywire with horitontal lines in shadow areas. Its like Fixed Pattern Noise or something.

Hey all, I was highly considering getting a GH5s instead of Bmpcc4k at higher cost but better peace of mind until I heard about this issue but I had previously heard that with the newest update it was all fixed. However I've also seen conflicting reports that the updates didn't do anything for some and from what I'm seeing here this is a very serious issue that shows itself in even regular shadows.

In an odd twist of fate the normally FPN ridden BM camera is clean as a whistle, even pumping up the gain in post shows a very even spread of noise with no oddities.

So what's the go here, fixed or not? Because if not then there goes my peace of mind, I might as well worry about the battery life on the pocket 4k instead and get a quality image.

I haven't used the variable frame rates, just 23.976/29.970/59.940 so I can't say it was fixed nor that it was ever broken, but image has always been as clean as I could ask for leading me to suspect that people having problems are possibly not exposing correctly, or using one of the other photo styles that I am not. I always use either HLG or V-Log/L.

The updates have always been improvements to functionality, auto focus chiefly, but improvement is real; I have no problem believing Panasonic if they claim an improvement in VFR but again, no experience with it.

It's greatly improved on my camera 120fps is great in my testing with V-Log-L at ISO 2500 and ISO 5000.
