GH5 GH5s and GH5 side by side comparison, ISO and TC feature

You know...it looks like you denoised those ISO shots...

(lol, j/k...just saw that YouTube comment.)

hello

thanks for the tests.
as I said here : http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?359157-really-weird-noise-when-doing-VFR-on-GH5s-!!! I have been a bit disappointed with noise coming up in deep blacks quite harshly when VFR was activated ; but in your tests I don't see any

could you tell what profile you used when shooting VFR ? Did you notice any noise in deep blacks ?

Thank you for your help

edit : better links than the one in my quoted post : https://www.dropbox.com/s/nyw4djzg5g...st5-1.MOV?dl=0

60P looks great in UHD but the higher HD VFR's like 120 and up have image issues. No free lunch on these cameras.

Haha. I love Youtube comments.

The GH5s is doing some crazy noise reduction in deep blacks with no detail. Impressive actually but when the image has detail it backs off in those areas. Panasonic introduced this in the GH5 with the new Venice engine and looks like they took it farther in the GH5S.

The oct. 42.5 does have some corner vignetting at f1.2 and 1.4. At f/1.2 the corners are about 0.75 EV darker (1.67%), but by f/2.8it is less than 0.25 EV, and should look fair, but uniform across the frame. That said, I have used the 42.5 on my AF100(17.8mm wide sensor size) with no unusual corner vignetting, other than what I have already pointed out. So it should cover the GH5S sensor. Try f/2.8 and see what you are getting?
Cheers

There is a setting in the menu called "Shading Comp" that helped. There is a little more noise in the periphery with it but it evens out the brightness across the frame.
