GH5 GH5 XLR Microphone Adapter LINE-IN question

Hi!

Does anyone use DMW-XLR1 Adapter LINE inputs that could confirm they're OK?

Unfortunately, DSLRs manufacturers to this point not consider benefits of LINE-IN inputs, even that it's common-known that good audio is arguably more important to overall subconscious impression then 6k video, 30-stop DR and other shenanigans.

Thanks to Panasonic, it seems like that dig that with DMW-XLR1 - but can you confirm it's any good in terms of line-in recording?

I have Sound Devices 302 and UA 610 solo that I planned to plug into DMW-XLR1. It kinda sux that only for LINE-INs I have to drop my current gh4 and go get gh5+DMW-XLR1 (that is 2500$ just for little mic input hiss removal) but I guess that's the price to pay if I want good audio.

Huge thanx for anyone who can elaborate on this.

I have the gh5 and xlr adapter and just used it to record a ballet recital (basically they play a cd so the source is relatively high quality) with board audio going into my zaxcom mixer then outputting one channel to my hcx1 and the other channel to the Gh5 XLR adapter, the output of the mixer is line level. I have to say the quality was top notch, I always record 24 bit 48khz using the adapter (even if its ultimate performance doesn't give full 24 bit, its most likely better than 16 bit). Send me a PM with your email address so I can email you a little audio sample and it includes silence for noise floor listening. I think you'll be quite pleased, but as everything in audio, its only as good as the weakest link in your chain.
