Hey has anyone dealt with an issue where changing the mode to 24P (including 23.976) and the AF does not work at all? Even when I change the physical focus setting from MF to AFC AFF AFS etc, the screen STILL shows me MF and there's no back button AF functionality, or half shutter AF.
As soon as I switch to 30P, 60P (Frame rate is the only thing I'm changing), this issue goes away and when I physically move the switch from AFC/AFS/AFF to MF, I can see the display changing showing which mode I am. Back button and half shutter AF work perfectly. It seems like this HAS to be a software/firmware issue, right?
I tested it on my friends GH5, and it seems like we have all of the same settings, yet his works on both 24P and 30P... This is a problem on FHD 24P 8 bit, FHD 24P 10 bit, 4K 24P (8 and 10 bit), and C4K 24P (8 and 10 bit). It seems like a really strange "bug" if that's what it is, but I'm wondering if somehow there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing. I made sure that VFR is turned off (you cannot do VFR on 4K anyway).
I shoot underwater, so I need to have access to AF. Normally I use MF as much as possible, but it's just one of those things I want to figure out! I posted this to a few other forums around the web and no one has offered a viable solution, yet.
Thanks all!
