GH4 GH5 Testing out IBIS.

I'd like to see how smooth it looks with hand grips, or on a good shoulder mount.

I tried to shoot a test for you using my new GH5 and the P&C Gearbox 1 which has side grips.

This is what I use anytime I feel I need a "cage", it will take literally any camera I would use. Unfortunately in the process of walking with it, I discovered a spot on the sensor that looked like a "welded in place" spot. Nothing I tried would even budge it, so the camera went back to B&H today. Their customer service on events like this is super.

I tried walking with it not a good idea. Maybe in higher fps

With what I tried, the stabilization between "steps" was excellent. But the bounce or up 'n down while walking was too evident. I'm 78 now and can't do it well but anyone who can do a "gliding" walk could probably see some success with this.

I'll try it again in a day or two with my G85 (which has essentially the same IBIS) using both the P&C cage linked above, and with the Filmcity shoulder mount rig. This is the one I have:

I've seen footage shot with the Olympus OMD E-M5 (original version) by someone with good agility, looked pretty close to Steadycam work as that individual walked along in what looked like a museum, navigating short sets of stairs (maybe 5 or so steps maximum). Looked pretty good.

Maybe with practice I can do some walking with the camera.
