GH5 GH5: setting for churches with low light? Only candlelight.

Hello, the next months I will go to make a short documentary in the Coptic churches with poor light. The churches at night lit up little more than with candlelight of many faithful. Can anyone advise me how to configure the GH5 to get a good video inside the churches? I have the Leica 12-60mm f / 2.8 lens.
Outside I want to film in 50p but maybe inside it would be better to film in 25p to get more light. Quite right? Thank you.

You will need a lens with a faster aperture than 2.8-4 ( the Sigma 18-35 1.8 with a focal reducer would be a good choice) or a camera like the GH5s or BMPCC4k which has better high ISO performance. The GH5 is not a good choice for low light shooting and there are no 'magic' settings that will enable this.

You are right perfectly but this time I have to use the lens I already have.

Shot wide open as much as possible to maintain the f/2.8 aperture. Raise your ISO as far as you can before the noise becomes objectionable. I've gone as high as 5000 but you'd probably need some post noise reduction at that level. Shoot at 25 and if there is little motion, try lowering the shutter speed a little, but be aware that if you go too far, any movement will blur the subjects. And you will most probably need to manually focus, or at least use manual assist with auto focus.

Best of luck with your project.

You can also bring the shutterspeed down to 1/40 or 1/25 especially if there isn’t much movement in the shot. If you use a tripod you can go even lower.

Thanks again for your precious info. Do you think I'll make a mistake to put the ISO in Automatic? Do you think I will get a decent image up to 3200 ISO?

Do you rent the camera or is it yours?
If it is yours I'd suggest you light some candles in a dark room and test the different settings and lenses.

The camera is mine. Yes I can do that test but it is different. In the church there will be more than 100 candles.

The sliders allow you to fine tune the results, usually you will not need to use them at all the plugin does a pretty good job automatically.

Just to know: the more Noise reduction you use the more detail overall you loose so the third one helps get some detail back. but like I said you will never need to adjust anything.
Just be aware that denoting isn't a silver bullet it should be used only when there is no other way you will lose detail the more denoising you use. For me in a documentary situation 3200 ISO + denoising is the max I like to use on the gh5.

Hey, I have just inslalled Denoiser III. I will make some test but before I'd like to understand the slider. I understand the first slider only. Could you tell me what function does the other 4 have? Would you be so kind as to tell me in a few words?

Thanks.

I don't know how to thank you but I don't understand well what you mean. Why does Denoser III do a good work work automatically?
Then: Amount and Radius Sliders what are they for?
