When the GH5 mkii was announced there was such a pent up demand for the GH6, many dismissed the camera as not being worthy, a mere incremental update to a classic, and why in heavens name wasn’t the company concentrating on delivering an already delayed GH6.
Based on my experience I think it is very much more. I’m impressed with what Panasonic has managed to pull out of the original 20mp sensor with the enhanced software engine, and the revamped user interface is welcome, much of which the GH6 has inherited.
So for those like myself who find the GH6 functions to be more than needed, the mkii is very much a compelling camera, that while not matching its successor in low light capabilities actually delivers better performance in that areas than its predecessor. And retains some of the functions of the GH5 that have been removed from the latest version.
Overall really enjoying the camera, especially its familiarity.
