GH5 GH5 lost power during long record.

Files playback fine on my GH5 from the card. But Card does not mount on my PC.

It says there isn't a file structure on the card and is asking to format the card.

Any way to repair the file structure on the card so I can transfer the footage?

I'm not sure this software applies, but there is plenty of other recovery software out there.

I’ve had luck with Stellar data recovery software before.

They have an SD card / photo one and a general windows one. I got both. On my SD card the one that worked was the general recovery.

Can you offer any more details about what happened? Mine has shut off before while recording when the battery ran out (I think..), but I have never lost any data.

So the roundabout solution was to plug the sd card into my old imac.

Mounted right up, and I transferred the footage to a USB drive.

Weird.

Were you using a Panasonic OEM Battery when you lost power? Have had that happen a few times but when using OEM batteries the GH5 finished writing the clip properly before shutting down. The footage was always downloaded by various Macs so perhaps we never noticed the issue.

your PC just couldn't read the directory structure, plenty of utilities will rebuild that - it's like a road map giving directions, the streets & houses are still there but you can't get to them without directions. The camera & Mac got around that but I'd still run something. I use Rescue Pro from Sandisk as there may still be a file that doesn't have an 'end of file'
